I know it can feel like quite a challenge to buy or let alone make healthy holiday desserts this time of year. Every recipe you find is loaded with sugar sugar sugar!
You head out to the grocery store, wondering through the door and the first thing you are bombarded with is, cakes, cookies, pies, candy! Oh no! What’s a girl to do!
You’ve worked so hard all year, to let the holidays sneak those extra pounds back on. Well, I’m here to save you from making those mistakes. Don’t get me wrong, you can still enjoy some of your favorite holiday desserts, just a healthier version of those.
Let’s get started! Thanksgiving is almost here and you need to be prepared with some healthy holiday desserts.
This first one is actually several desserts, but Diane Keuilian, author of “The Recipe Hacker” is a go to for some of my family’s favorite meals. She’s all about cooking real foods, none of the processed, sugary foods so many of us like.
Most of her recipes are sugar free and dairy free. You’ll notice lots of palm sugar, full fat coconut milk (this is in the can) by the way, and lots of almond and coconut flour.
I hope you enjoy these recipes for years. P.S. The Flourless Chocolate Cake is one of my favorites!
Ok, moving on. I can’t leave without sharing a couple of my favorite Paleo Grubs healthy holiday desserts. You’ve heard me talk about Paleo Grubs before; yes they are one of my favorite go to recipe sites for delicious, low carb meals.
I stress low carb eating with my clients always. It seems sugar is what sucks us into the fat trap. No matter how hard you try to get the weight off, it just doesn’t seem to budge until you decide to monitor your carbs. There’s just no way around it. So, I’m all about teaching my clients, you can have your cake and eat it too as long as you use the right ingredients.
Below I’m sharing with you a couple of my favorite Paleo Healthy Dessert Recipes. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Paleo Pumpkin Streusel Bars
Molten Chocolate Lava Cake YUM!
Remember, if you’re cooking for an army, just double the recipes. I hope you enjoy these Healthy Holiday Desserts as much as I do. Healthy doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless. It just takes a little planning and learning to swap out some ingredients.
Have a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving! From my house to yours!
